Concerning the New Style Schlage “F” Series Locksets

We have experienced many problems with the new Schlage “F” series lock cylinders and locksets.  The new style cylinders have a floating cylinder cap held on with tiny fingers which can disconnect very easily.  This can happen during normal use, or when the cylinder is being re-keyed.

               The knobs on these new locksets will not accept the old style “F” series cylinders.   Due to these complications:

Aro Lock & Door Company Inc., will no longer recommend the Schlage “F” series knob lockset as a product of choice or provide any warranty service on these locks.

 This shall serve as notice that in the future our policy will be if you the customer choose to purchase any of these locks or request a re-keyed on any of these cylinders, you will assume all risk and liability for any damage to the cylinder or the disconnection of these floating caps during a re-key or after installation.
