ATTENTION CUSTOMERS!!

Due to the increased threat of liability, and the unsafe nature of its practice, after May 1, 2009,  ARO LOCK & DOOR COMPANY INC. will discontinue the practice of uncontrolled random master keying of cylinders sometimes referred to as “BLIND KEYING”.  This process involves using an existing controlled master key and combinating it with an uncontrolled key combination or bitting outside of the related master key system.

The Associated Locksmiths of America’s (ALOA) Professional Glossary of Terms Relating to Cylinders, Keys, and Master Keying defines Random Master Keying as:

 …an undesirable process used to master key which uses unrelated keys to create a system.

This practice creates an environment which could allow other random keys to easily operate a lock when those keys should not.  We will be happy to answer your questions on how to correct this situation and establish a properly controlled system for you.
